App Dashboard: Turn Data Into Impact

This dashboard is part of a larger strategic move: we're committed to helping you build great apps—not just functional ones.

It’s a practical tool, backed by data, research, and experience, designed to help you improve and grow.

From our work with many teams, building hundreds of digital media businesses, we’ve identified four key traits of successful digital and streaming apps:

  • High performance – Fast, smooth, and responsive, with minimal delays

  • Stability – Reliable across devices, with no major bugs

  • Objective-driven feature set– Built around your business objectives

  • Strong UX/UI – Clear, consistent, and visually polished

This dashboard shows how your app performs — and where there’s room to grow.

What You’ll See Today

  • Performance Insights – Get a clear picture of how your app is doing across platforms: platform breakdown, loading times, and version adoption.

  • Feature Adoption Overview – See what’s live in your app and where you might be underutilizing the Zapp platform.

More growth tools and insights are on the way.

The dashboard is just the starting point. The real value comes from working together. Your Customer Success Manager will use this tool with you to interpret the data, align it with your goals, and help shape the right strategy for your app.

This is where insights become action and impact.

New Full-Screen Audio Player: A Smarter Listening Experience

In this version, we’re introducing an improved audio experience with a new full-screen player. Designed for audio content such as live radio and podcasts, the player includes a clean layout and several useful features:

Speed Control – Adjust playback speed to suit your listening preferences

Sleep Timer – Automatically stops playback after a set time

Background Playback – Keeps audio running when switching apps or locking the screen

Mini Player – Control playback while browsing or multitasking

This update also opens up new possibilities for adding and highlighting audio content in your app.

Learn how to implement the player in the following article.

Show Screens on TV: Improved Tabs and New Top Content Area

We’ve improved the TV tabs feature—now you can display content above the tabs. This enhancement is designed to support a clear, immersive experience with intuitive content discovery across multi-season series, single seasons, and extras.

Use the new top area to show a full-width image above the tabs, or feature promotional content like trailers and highlights.

For multiple seasons and extras, choose a hero component with rails, vertical tabs, or horizontal tabs—whatever fits your flow.

For a single season, go with a hero component with a list.

How to use it:

  1. Choose a preset, add it to your layout, and save.

  2. Open the screen and connect your data source—just make sure it matches the preset’s data structure.

Learn how to implement show screen presets in the following article.

Storefront's Enhancements

We've added key enhancements to one of the critical flows in the app On Samsung and LG TVs, you can now create a custom screen to guide users where to complete their purchase outside the app—fully branded and seamless.

On other platforms, we've added a processing message during checkout—so users stay in the app while the transaction completes, reducing drop-offs.

More Features in This Version:

  • Brightcove Player integration – Applicaster powers the newly revamped Brightcove OTT solution. As a part of that solution, Applicaster supports the native Brightcove video player on all platforms.
  • Microsoft Clarity integration – Gain deeper insights into user behavior with session replays and heatmaps.
